The food pantry ministry is a local effort through the Ministry Alliance of Weimar Texas, providing nutritious food to individuals and families facing food insecurity, built on values of compassion, dignity, and service to the community. Operated by churches, faith-based groups, or independent nonprofits, it’s guided by generosity, responsiveness, and teamwork. Its mission is to offer food with dignity and abundance, ensuring no one goes hungry while respecting their worth and cultural needs.
The pantry addresses both immediate hunger and long-term food security by removing barriers like cost, location, or cultural fit. Inspired by teachings such as loving your neighbor (Matthew 22:37-40) and sharing with those in need (Deuteronomy 15:10-11), it reflects the belief that caring for the body is part of serving God.
At Calvary Baptist Church, pantry hours are 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of every month, located in the Calvary Baptist Family Center Building at 725 S. Eagle St., Weimar, Texas 78962. For more details or help, feel free to contact: (979) 725-6832
Most importantly, the Bible teaches that God wants everyone to know they can have eternal life through Him: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
