Become a Wise Master Builder

When the apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth from Ephesus, he reminded them of the labor, love, and time he had invested in laying the Church’s foundation, knowing others would build upon it. He stressed that this foundation must begin with Jesus Christ, the Chief Cornerstone, through salvation, before the building of the Christian life can truly begin. Paul emphasized that throughout our lives, we are each constructing a spiritual building through our works and service to Him, which will one day be judged at the BEMA seat, not for salvation, but for rewards. Works without value will be burned away by Christ Himself, leaving only those of true spiritual worth—gold, silver, and precious stones—while we are still saved by His grace, “yet so as through fire.” Therefore, Christian and Church, take heed how you build your spiritual house.
